Origin
The Anthurium Villenaorum is a plant species that originally hails from Peru. The species is primarily found in the cloud forests within the San Martin region. In the wild, this plant primarily grows on the damp forest floor or on rocks in river valleys. The Anthurium Villenaorum is named after Peruvian botanist Carlos Villena, in honour of his contribution to botany in Peru.

Characteristics
The Anthurium Villenaorum has a distinctive appearance with its large, heart-shaped leaves. These leaves can reach a length of an impressive 90 centimetres. The species is defined by its hanging growing shape and climbing stems, which is unique among the Anthurium species. The flowers form a striking bract that is often a deep red in colour.

Care
Generally, the Anthurium Villenaorum requires little light and is best placed in partial shade. The plant thrives in high humidity, which corresponds to the cloud forests in Peru. It is crucial to water the plant regularly but also to ensure good drainage in the soil to prevent root rot. In addition, the temperature should be kept between 16 and 25 degrees Celsius to promote optimal growth.
