Origin
The Anthurium Sweet Dream is a popular houseplant originating from the tropical rainforests of Central and South America. This plant belongs to the Araceae family and is an evergreen, meaning it stays green throughout the year. In the wild, these plants are usually found as epiphytes, which means they grow on other plants without harming them.
Characteristics
One of the most striking characteristics of the Anthurium Sweet Dream is the bright coloured, heart-shaped bracts which are often mistaken for flowers. However, the actual flowers are tiny, hardly noticeable spots that grow on the unique spadix in the middle of the bracts. This plant typically grows to a height of approximately 40-60 cm and has deep green, glossy leaves.
Care
The care of the Anthurium Sweet Dream requires some attention. The plant likes a warm, humid environment and a location with indirect light or partial shade is ideal. It is advisable to water the plant regularly, but be careful with overwatering as this can cause root rot. The plant also benefits from regular feeding with a balanced fertiliser during the growing season.
