Origin
The Pilea mix, better known as the Pancake Plant, has its origin in the subtropical regions of China. Here, the plant grows in shady spots on the forest floor. Later, in the 1970s, the plant became popular in Europe and spread to other parts of the world.

Characteristics
The Pilea mix is a green indoor plant known for its round, flat leaves that resemble pancakes. Its vibrant green colour and glossy texture of the leaves are notable. The plant should be pruned regularly to maintain its compact size, as it can otherwise lose its shape. Moreover, when happy, the plant produces stems with small white flowers.

Care
The Pilea mix is relatively easy to care for, provided it is placed in a bright location without direct sunlight. The plant requires moist soil, but cannot tolerate waterlogging. It is advisable to allow the soil to dry before watering again. The plant has no high requirements regarding humidity, but periodic spraying can be beneficial to remove dust from the leaves.
