The Phalaenopsis Peach Blossom is a houseplant that belongs to the Orchid family. The plant originates from the tropical rainforests of Asia, particularly in areas of the Philippines and Indonesia. It is also strongly present in Northern Australia and the South Pacific, at elevations of up to approximately 400 metres above sea level.
Characteristics
The Phalaenopsis Peach Blossom is characterized by its spectacular clusters of flowers that can be purple or pink in colour with hints of peach. The robust plant can grow up to 70 centimetres high and the flowers of the plant can have a diameter of 5 centimetres. Moreover, the flowers remain on the plant for a particularly long time, sometimes up to three months. The blooming period is mainly in winter and early spring.
Care
In terms of care, the Phalaenopsis Peach Blossom requires an average amount of light, but prefers not to have direct sunlight. The optimum temperature for this plant is between 20 and 25 degrees Celsius. Because the plant comes from a tropical climate, it enjoys high humidity. In addition, moderate watering is sufficient for this plant, where it is important that excess water can drain away well to prevent root rot.
