Origin
The Rosa Calibra Kordana, also known as the Kordana Rose, is a plant species originally from the Middle East. The plant has been specifically bred to thrive in a container setting, with its history dating back to the end of the 20th century. The Kordana Rose is a product of extensive breeding by German growers, in particular the company W. Kordes' Söhne.
Characteristics
The Rosa Calibra Kordana has the typical characteristics of a rose and forms beautifully rounded clumps. The flowers of this species are highly fragrant and come in a variety of colours, ranging from yellow to red, and everything in between. This type of roses also has a compact growth habit and reaches an average height of about 40 centimetres. The blooming period of the Rosa Calibra Kordana runs from late spring to early autumn.
Care
This plant species requires relatively simple care. It loves full sun and needs regular watering, but does not cope well with standing water so good drainage is important. Furthermore, the soil in which the plant grows should be rich in organic material and well-draining, and regular fertilising is recommended during the growing period. Regular pruning promotes the growth and flowering of the Rosa Calibra Kordana.
