Origin
The Phalaenopsis Optistar Anthura Padova is a hybrid orchid species originally developed by the Dutch plant nursery Anthura. This exotic plant has its roots in the tropical regions of South-East Asia. The genus Phalaenopsis, to which this plant belongs, is part of the orchid family, the largest family within the plant world.
Characteristics
The Phalaenopsis Optistar Anthura Padova is known for its large, wavy flowers that bloom mainly in the spring and summer. The flowers are bright white with a vibrant purple edge and a light yellow centre, making them very striking. The plant is characterized by its long flowering period and, if well cared for, can bloom for up to three months. In addition, this orchid has sturdy, dark green leaves that contrast with the bright flowers.
Care
When caring for the Phalaenopsis Optistar Anthura Padova, it is important that the plant is placed in a light location, but not in direct sunlight. It is recommended to water the plant once a week. In addition, this orchid benefits from a high humidity, so it is advised to regularly mist the plant with water. To make the plant bloom again after flowering, the flower stem can be cut off above the second eye. This directs the plant's energy towards developing a new flower stem.
