Origin
Arabis caucasica, also known as Rockcress, originates from the mountainous regions of Southeast Europe and Western Asia. The plant is especially prevalent in the Caucasus and on the Balkan Peninsula. The Arabis caucasica has specifically evolved to survive in rocky areas with poor soils.

Characteristics
The Arabis caucasica is an evergreen ground cover plant. The plant is characterised by its white, four-petaled flowers that bloom between March and May. The inflorescence is a cluster. The leaf is lanceolate, with the underside often hairy. The Arabis caucasica spreads via runners and can reach a height of 15 to 20 centimeters.

Care
Arabis caucasica requires a location in full sun or partial shade and has a preference for well-drained, somewhat dry soil. The plant is best planted in the spring. Ideally, the flowers should be cut back after blooming to promote the next bloom. Although this plant is quite resistant, it is occasionally affected by aphids or mildew, which must be combated with appropriate means.
