Origin
The Thymus x Citriodorus 'Silver Queen', also known as Lemon Thyme, is a hybrid thyme species of Mediterranean origin. This plant originates from the historical regions of Spain and Italy, where the landscape is characterised by dry, rocky soils and sunny climates. Due to its Mediterranean origin, the 'Silver Queen' grows best in dry, well-draining soil and needs plenty of sunlight.

Characteristics
The Thymus x Citriodorus 'Silver Queen' is an evergreen perennial that can vary in height from 20 to 30 centimetres. It carries small, oval leaves with a silver-grey colour and graceful white edges. The flowers are usually light pink and are mainly produced in the summer months. What distinguishes the 'Silver Queen' is its unique lemon scent, hence the nickname Lemon Thyme.

Care
Taking care of the Thymus x Citriodorus 'Silver Queen' requires a good understanding of its natural living conditions. The plant has a strong preference for healthy, well-draining soil with a neutral to slightly alkaline pH value. In terms of lighting, this plant needs at least six hours of direct sunlight every day.
