Origin
The Juniperus pingii 'Loderi', better known as the Chinese Juniper, originates from Eastern Asia and is primarily rooted in China. This species is part of the cypress family and owes its nickname to the fact that it predominantly grows in mountainous areas of China. It is named after Sir Edmund Loder, a British botanist and plant collector.
Characteristics
The Juniperus pingii 'Loderi' is an evergreen hedge plant known for its compact and bush-like growth. The plant has scale-like, medium green leaves that often turn a light blue in warm seasons. Female specimens bear small, blue cones that also have a blue tint. The height of a mature plant varies between one and one and a half metres, while its width is approximately half a metre.
