Origin
The Festuca glauca Amigold, also known as blue fescue, is a species of grass originating from Southern Europe. Particularly in France, this plant is commonly seen in both natural environments and landscaped gardens.
Characteristics
The Festuca glauca Amigold is characterised by its blue-grey colour. The cantle-shaped leaves have a pointed tip and measure up to ten centimetres in length. During its flowering period in summer, the plant bears tall pollen flower spikes that give it a graceful appearance. Even in winter, the plant retains its attractive colour.
Care
The Festuca glauca Amigold best grows in full sun or light shade. It is drought-tolerant and requires little additional fertilisation. The plant tolerates both poor and chalky soils and can thus be planted almost everywhere. However, ensure that the soil is well-draining, as this plant does not tolerate wet feet. Pruning is not necessary, as it does not contribute to the plant's growth or blooming.
