Origin
The Carex oshimensis 'Everlime', also known as the Japanese Sedge, has its origin on Oshima Island, located in Japan. This perennial plant specifically comes from the humid forested areas in this island group.
Characteristics
The Carex oshimensis 'Everlime' stands out for its lime-colored leaves, which are dark green at the edges. The plant has a compact growth habit and reaches a maximum height of about 20 to 30 centimetres. This ornamental grass species blooms with narrow, brown flower spikes from April to June.
Care
The Carex oshimensis 'Everlime' requires few demands of its location and can be placed in both full sun and semi-shade. The type of soil matters little, as long as it is well-draining to prevent root rot. Although the plant is fairly drought-resistant, it is recommended to water it regularly, especially in dry periods. Prune the plant back in spring to maintain a nice compact shape.
