Origin
The Taxus baccata 'Fastigiata Aurea', sometimes known as the Golden Yew, originates from Europe, Northwest Africa, and Southwest Asia. This plant has a long history and was appreciated and used by humans as far back as prehistoric times. The oldest specimens of this Yew species are over a thousand years old.

Characteristics
The Taxus baccata 'Fastigiata Aurea' is a shrub-like conifer with a compact growth habit. It is characterised by its golden coloured needles that grow in clusters around the trunk. The plant grows slowly and can eventually reach up to 6 metres in height. This Yew species produces red, egg-shaped berries.

Care
The Taxus baccata 'Fastigiata Aurea' prefers well-draining, slightly acidic to neutral soil and a location in partial shade or full sun. The plant tolerates pruning well and can be pruned back early in the spring. For optimal growth and condition it is recommended to give a general fertiliser annually in the spring. It is important to know that the location of this Yew species should preferably not be too wet.
