Origin
The Juniperus conferta 'Schlager', also known as Japanese Shore Juniper, has its origin in Japan. This evergreen plant prefers to grow on sandy, poor soils and therefore can be naturally found on sand dunes and rocky hills on the coast.

Characteristics
