Origin
The Murdannia loriformis 'Bright Star', also known as the Morning Star, originates from East and Southeast Asia. It primarily grows in damp, woodland areas such as marshlands and along river beds. It was first scientifically described in the early 19th century and has since gained worldwide popularity as a house plant.

Characteristics
The Murdannia loriformis 'Bright Star' is a compact, herbaceous plant that can reach up to 35 cm in height. Its leaves are striking with their emerald-green colour, striped with light, luminous stripes, from which the plant takes its name Bright Star. The plant's blooming period is between late spring and early summer, when small lilac-coloured flowers appear.

Care
The Murdannia loriformis 'Bright Star' requires moderate light and can survive in both full sunlight and partial shade. The soil should be well-drained and the plant requires regular watering, especially during its growth period. For optimal growth, a moderate to high humidity level is beneficial, however, the plant can also adapt to lower humid conditions.
