Origin
The Guzmania 'Optima' is a unique exotic plant in the Bromeliad family originally from Central and South America. The genus is named after the Spanish physicist and pharmacist, Anastasio Guzman, who made significant contributions to botanical knowledge of various indigenous plant species from this area.

Characteristics
The Guzmania 'Optima' is known for its bright green, glossy leaves that grow from a rosette. Perhaps the most notable characteristic is its prominent bloom, also known as an inflorescence, composed of brightly coloured bracts with smaller yellow, white, or orange flowers. The colour of the flower can vary, but the most common colour is red. The plant can reach a height of 50-60 cm.

Care
The Guzmania 'Optima' requires specific care methods. For instance, the plant needs high light levels, but direct sunlight should be avoided as it can burn the leaves. Feeding the plant is preferably done by pouring distilled water into the rosette, not onto the ground. It is also important to keep the temperature stable, a temperature between 18 and 22 degrees Celsius is most ideal.
