Juniperus chinensis
F00002207
Origin
Armeria pseudarmeria 'Ballerina White', a member of the leadwort family, originally hails from Southern Europe and North Africa. In the wild, this variety is predominantly found in the coastal regions of Portugal, Northern Spain, and Western France. The 'Ballerina White' is a specially cultivated cultivar, intended for the ornamental plant market.
Characteristics
Armeria pseudarmeria 'Ballerina White' is characterised by its spherical white flowers that shoot up from grass-like, green leaves. The striking flowers, which reach a maximum height of 40 centimetres, bloom from the late spring until the early autumn. The stems are relatively long, which gives the plant a graceful appearance. Because the plant is hardy, it can stay outside all year round.
Care
Well-draining soil and a sunny spot are the ideal conditions for the Armeria pseudarmeria 'Ballerina White'. The plant is drought-resistant and doesn't require much water, especially not in the winter months. However, it is recommended to remove faded flowers in a timely manner for better growth and flowering. Lastly, a yearly spring snip promotes the formation of new flower buds.
