Characteristics
The Icelandic poppy is characterized by its bright, satin-like flowers that can come in white, yellow, orange or red and usually bloom in the early summer months. The flowers are supported by stems about 30 to 60 cm high. The plant's grey-green leaves are finely divided and have a light fuzz. The flower buds are located at the ends of the strong, straight flower stems and open into large, showy flowers. The Papaver nudicaule 'Pop-up' has a fast-growing character.
