Origin
The Phlox subulata 'Fabulous', also commonly known as 'Fabulous' creeping phlox, has its origin in North America. This specific variety, however, was developed inside a plant nursery and is not found in the wild. There are various types and varieties of Phlox, with the 'Fabulous' being an especially popular specimen due to its distinctive characteristics.

Characteristics
The Phlox subulata 'Fabulous' is a low-growing ground cover that distinguishes itself through its narrow, needle-like and evergreen leaves. During the blooming period, which runs from April to June, the shrub comes into its own with numerous vibrant pink flowers with a dark pink eye. The shrub reaches a maximum height of about 15 centimetres, but can spread considerably in width and therefore cover a substantial area.

Care
The maintenance of the Phlox subulata 'Fabulous' is relatively straightforward. The plant thrives best in full sun or partial shade, with a preference for well-draining, fertile soil. Although it can tolerate some dryness, regular watering during dry periods will contribute to optimum growth and blooming. It is advisable to prune the shrub lightly after blooming in June to maintain a compact shape and to stimulate the formation of new flower buds.
