Origin
The Mandevilla (Dipladenia) Diamantina Quartz & Yellow originates from South America, particularly Brazil. This blooming plant belongs to the dogbane family (Apocynaceae) and is also known as 'Brazilian Jasmine'.
Characteristics
Characteristic of the Mandevilla Diamantina Quartz & Yellow are the large, trumpet-shaped flowers it produces. These flowers are yellow in colour, hence the name. The plant has leathery, lance-shaped leaves that shimmer in the sunlight. During its growing period, which runs from spring to autumn, this plant can reach a height of up to two metres.
Care
The Mandevilla Diamantina Quartz & Yellow prefers a warm, sunny and sheltered position. The plant needs regular watering, especially in dry weather, to prevent the soil from drying out. Although it can tolerate a bit of drought, it prefers a consistently moist soil. The plant should be pruned back in the autumn to stimulate new growth in the spring.
