Origin
The Pentas lanceolata mix, also known as the Egyptian star cluster, originates from tropical Central Africa. More specifically, this colourful plant can be found in countries such as Kenya, Somalia, and Yemen. The plant belongs to the family of the Rubiaceae and has spread to other parts of the world over the years, mainly through use in horticulture and landscape architecture.

Characteristics
The Pentas lanceolata mix is characterised by its striking star-like flowers, from which it also derives its nickname. These flowers vary in colour from white to pink, red, lilac and purple, and appear in dense clusters. The plant can reach a height of 3 to 4 meters, but often remains smaller in more temperate climates. The leaf of the Pentas is lance-shaped and dark green in colour with an opposing leaf arrangement.

Care
Pentas lanceolata mix requires a sunny, well-drained growth place. Although they can survive in partial shade, bloom will be more intense in full sun. During warm periods, it is necessary to water the plant regularly. However, too high humidity can cause rot. The plant is not winter hardy and requires protection against frost. Pruning the plant in spring is recommended to promote bushy growth and abundant flowering.
