Thuja occidentalis 'Golden Globe'
Kugel
F00003551
Origin
The Hydrangea Lacecap, also known as the Lacecap Hydrangea, finds its origin in Asia and has since been distributed internationally. The plant is beloved in both Japan and China and was brought to Europe by missionaries in the 18th century.
Characteristics
The Hydrangea Lacecap can be primarily recognised by her famous flowers. These consist of a ring of prominent, sterile flowers around a centre of subtle, fertile flowers, giving the plant its 'lace-cap' appearance. The bloom period of this deciduous shrub is from June to September. The leaves are oval and the plant can reach a height of 1 to 2 meters.
Care
The Hydrangea Lacecap requires specific care. The plant likes a location in partial shade to sun and does not tolerate waterlogging. The soil should be nutritious and rich in humus, with a neutral to slightly acidic pH value. Pruning is only minimally necessary, only dead and damaged branches need to be removed in spring. To promote a rich blooming, a specific hydrangea feed can be administered in spring.
