Origin
The Dracaena draco originates from the Canary Islands, Madeira, and parts of West Africa. This plant mainly grows in subtropical and mountainous regions. In its natural habitat, it can reach an impressive size. The species is adapted to dry and rocky soils.

Characteristics
Dracaena draco is a slow-growing, tree-like plant. It has a thick, often branched trunk which, over the years, develops an umbrella-shaped crown. The leaves are sword-shaped, grey-green in colour, and grow in dense rosettes at the tips of the branches. Mature specimens may produce an orange-red resin known as dragon’s blood. In the wild, this species can live for several hundred years.

Care
Dracaena draco prefers a spot with plenty of light and tolerates direct sunlight well. The plant thrives best in well-draining, lightly moist soil. The soil can dry out between waterings without causing harm to the plant. Ideally, the ambient temperature should not remain below 10 degrees Celsius for long periods. Regularly keeping the leaves free of dust promotes the plant’s overall condition.
