Stem
4FIETRS30
Origin
Ficus aspera 'Parcellii' belongs to the Moraceae family. This plant species originates from islands in the Pacific Ocean, including Vanuatu. It is a tropical species that naturally grows in rainforest regions. In temperate areas, this ficus is mainly kept as a house or greenhouse plant.
Characteristics
Ficus aspera 'Parcellii' is a striking foliage plant with variegated leaves. The leaves are large, oval, and display distinctive patterns with pale yellow spots and edging on a dark green background. The plant develops a bushy form and, under ideal conditions, can reach several metres in height. The leaf venation is clearly visible, and the surface of the leaf feels rough to the touch.
Care
This ficus prefers a light position but does not tolerate direct sunlight. It requires moderately moist potting soil that is well-draining. Regular watering is recommended, ensuring the soil never becomes completely dry or waterlogged. Ideally, the temperature should remain above 15°C throughout the year. Consistent humidity also promotes healthy leaf development.
