Origin
Phoenix roebelenii is a palm species native to Southeast Asia. Its natural distribution includes parts of Laos, Vietnam, and southern China. In these regions, it predominantly grows along rivers and in lowland forests. In temperate and tropical climates, the plant is now widely used as an ornamental.

Characteristics
Phoenix roebelenii is a small, slow-growing palm that rarely exceeds two to three metres in height. The plant is characterised by its slender trunk and feathered leaves that arch gracefully. Each leaf consists of many narrow, green segments. The underside of the leaves is a pale greyish-green. Young plants and the lower part of the trunk are often covered with small spines.

Care
For optimal growth, Phoenix roebelenii requires a position with plenty of indirect light. Regular watering is essential, ensuring that the potting soil remains moist but not waterlogged. The humidity should not be too low. The plant cannot tolerate prolonged cold and thrives best at temperatures above 15 degrees Celsius. Feeding during the growing season promotes healthy development.
