Origin
Crassula ovata 'Colorata' originates from South Africa. It belongs to the succulent family Crassulaceae. This species is naturally found in dry, rocky areas. The climate in its native range is warm and sunny.
Characteristics
Crassula ovata 'Colorata' is known for its oval, fleshy leaves. When provided with sufficient sunlight, the edges of the leaves turn red. The plant has a compact, branching growth habit and can develop into a small shrub. During flowering, small, star-shaped, white to light pink flowers appear.
Care
Crassula ovata 'Colorata' requires plenty of light to remain compact and healthy. The soil should be well-draining. Water sparingly, allowing the soil to dry out completely between waterings. Overwatering can lead to root rot. Fertilising is only recommended during the growing season.
