Origin
The Alocasia Ninja Variegata has its origin in the tropics of Southeast Asia and is highly valued in the region for its aesthetically pleasing appearance. This low, evergreen foliage plant is mostly found on Borneo, in Malaysia, the Philippines, and other tropical areas. The plant is also known as 'Alocasia Green Velvet'.
Characteristics
The Alocasia Ninja Variegata is a foliage plant characterised by its striking, sharply defined, white veining against a dark green leaf. The leaves are heart-shaped and have a velvety texture. The plant can reach a height of about 1 meter, and has long stem-like stalks that the leaves grow on.
Care
An Alocasia Ninja Variegata needs a light location but should not be exposed to direct sunlight. The soil should constantly be kept moist without an excess of water remaining in the pot. The plant prefers an environment with high humidity and temperatures between 18-22 degrees Celsius. During the growth period (spring and summer), the Alocasia Nina Variegata should be fertilised regularly. However, overfertilisation should be avoided as it can damage the roots.
