Origin
The Alocasia Green Bambino Variegated is a variety of Alocasia, also known as the elephant ear plant. This type of Alocasia has its origin in the tropical rainforests of Southeast Asia. Particularly in the Philippines and Borneo, the plant is often found in the wild. The subtropical climate in these areas provides the ideal growing conditions for the Alocasia Green Bambino Variegated.

Characteristics
The Alocasia Green Bambino Variegated is known for its striking leaves. They are heart-shaped, deep green in colour, and have markedly varied stripes in light green to white shades, hence the addition of Variegated (variegata indicates colour variation in leaves). The leaves stand tall on sturdy stems, giving the plant a distinctive, urban appearance. The mature plant can reach between 30 and 50 cm in height.

Care
The Alocasia Green Bambino Variegated has specific care requirements that fit its tropical origin. The plant needs a lot of light, but not direct sunlight as this can burn the leaves. Warmer weather is preferable, but the plant will also tolerate cooler temperatures, as long as there is no frost. Moreover, this Alocasia loves high humidity and it is recommended to regularly spray the plant with lukewarm water to mimic this. When it comes to watering, it's better to give it too little than too much. Allow the soil to dry out thoroughly between watering to prevent root rot.
