Origin
The Alocasia Cuprea Red, an exotic houseplant, is originally from Southeast Asia, specifically the tropical rainforest of Borneo. It’s named after the Alocasia species, a group comprising over 70 diverse plants.
Characteristics
This plant is recognisable by its unique and decorative leaves which have a wonderful metallic sheen and typically sport a dark red to coppery hue. Each leaf is heart-shaped with prominent veins. The Alocasia Cuprea Red usually reaches a height of about 60 centimetres.
Care
For healthy growth, the Alocasia Cuprea Red primarily requires a light location. The terrain needs to be well-draining to prevent root rot. This plant needs high humidity, so regular misting with water is recommended. It's important to water the plant moderately to ensure that the roots do not sit in water.
