Origin
The Anthurium Coral Champion is an exotic plant originally from the tropical regions of South America. It belongs to the Araceae family, which is known for the diversity of its species and varieties. The expansive rainforests of Ecuador and Colombia are home to this particular species.
Characteristics
Distinctive of the Anthurium Coral Champion are the large, heart-shaped, glossy green leaves and the striking, coral-red spadix, surrounded by a bright red spathe. The plant grows upright, reaches a height of about 40-50 cm and usually flowers from spring to late summer. The flowers are enduring and can retain their colour and shape for up to three months.
Care
The Anthurium Coral Champion requires high humidity and a constant temperature between 20 and 22 degrees Celsius. Direct sunlight should be avoided, but a bright spot is essential for flowering. The soil needs to be well-draining and not saturated, as too much water can cause root rot. Feeding is required every two weeks during the growing season and monthly during the winter.
