Origin
Aconitum arendsii 'Pershore Abbey' is a perennial plant belonging to the buttercup family (Ranunculaceae). The species Aconitum arendsii arose from crosses within the Aconitum genus. 'Pershore Abbey' is a selected cultivar, developed for its ornamental value. The plant has its origin in Europe, where such crosses were made in botanical gardens.
Characteristics
Aconitum arendsii 'Pershore Abbey' has an upright growth habit and reaches a height of 120 to 150 centimetres. The leaves are deeply lobed, palmate, and glossy green in colour. During summer, the plant produces striking, deep blue to purple, helmet-shaped flowers in long spikes. The flower spikes are sturdy and remain upright. Flowering typically occurs from July to September.
