Origin
Agapanthus africanus 'Leicester' belongs to the Amaryllidaceae family and originates from South Africa. This species naturally grows in grasslands and on rocky slopes in regions with a Mediterranean climate. The cultivar 'Leicester' is a selectively bred variety within the Agapanthus genus.
Characteristics
Agapanthus africanus 'Leicester' is a perennial with narrow, strap-shaped, glossy green leaves. In summer, the plant produces tall stems with loose umbels of trumpet-shaped, pale blue flowers. The flower stems typically reach between 70 and 90 centimetres in height. Flowering is abundant and long-lasting, with the blooms appearing in striking clusters.
