Origin
The Aloë zebrina `Dannyz`, also known as the Tiger Aloe, is an ornamental succulent originally from South Africa. In this warm and dry environment, this plant has learnt to survive under extreme conditions. The wild specimens are therefore predominantly found in desert-like areas.
Characteristics
The Aloë zebrina `Dannyz` is particularly characterised by its striped, toothed leaves that are reminiscent of a zebra’s skin, hence its name. The plant typically grows to a height of 30 to 40 centimetres. It's a perennial plant, meaning it lives for more than two years. In spring, the plant produces vibrant orange flowers.
Care
The care for the Aloë zebrina `Dannyz` is very simple as it is adapted to dry climatic conditions. The plant requires little water and is highly drought-resistant. It’s best to place the plant in a bright and sunny location. It is important to fertilise the plant during the growth period with fertiliser for cacti and succulents. It is recommended to plant it in well-draining soil to prevent overwatering. In general, the care requirements of this plant are low, making it ideal for both experienced and beginner gardeners.
