Origin
The Echeveria maradiba originates from the warm, dry climates of Central and South America. This desert plant originally grew in the crevices of mountainous areas, meaning it can tolerate a dry environment with plenty of sunlight.
Characteristics
The Echeveria maradiba is a type of succulent distinguished by its leaf rosettes. The thick, waxy leaves store water, allowing the plant to withstand long periods of drought. The leaves have a blue to grey-green colour with purplish hues along their edges. Throughout the year, the plant produces flower stalks with charming red-orange flowers.
Care
Echeveria maradiba is easy to care for, provided a few basic conditions are met. It requires well-draining soil to prevent root rot, as well as a warm and sunny climate to thrive. Although the plant has some tolerance for colder temperatures, they prefer the warmth. Watering should be sparse; once a week in the summer and once every two to three weeks in the winter. Even though the plant can withstand long periods of drought, complete dehydration should be avoided.
