Origin
The Echeveria 'Nina', also known as 'Echeveria 'Paul Bunyan', is originally from the dry, mountainous regions of Mexico. This succulent plant species belongs to the Crassulaceae family and is most commonly found in the semi-deserts of Central America. They are named after the 18th century Mexican botanist Atanasio Echeveria.
Characteristics
The Echeveria 'Nina' is easy to recognise thanks to its attractive, fleshy leaves that grow in a rosette shape. The leaves are usually grey-green in colour with a pink undertone. There is also a clear red edge visible on the tips of the leaves. During the blooming period in spring and summer, the Echeveria 'Nina' produces vibrant, bell-shaped flowers in pink and orange hues.
Care
Like other Echeveria species, the Echeveria 'Nina' requires relatively little care. They require well-draining soil and a sunny spot to develop. Although this plant is drought-tolerant, regular, limited watering will promote its growth and flowering. The Echeveria 'Nina' does not fare well in cold and moisture, and should therefore be moved indoors or protected during the winter months.
