Origin
Euphorbia ingens has its origin in southern Africa. The species mainly grows in dry, savanna-like regions and is found in countries such as South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Mozambique.
Characteristics
Euphorbia ingens is a succulent with a tree-like growth habit. The plant features thick, upright, columnar trunks with lobed edges and short spines. The colour of the trunks ranges from light green to dark green. In nature, the plant can reach a height of over ten metres. When grown as a pot plant, its growth usually remains more limited.
Care
Euphorbia ingens prefers plenty of light and tolerates direct sunlight well. The plant copes well with dry conditions and needs little water. Water sparingly and allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. A well-draining potting soil helps prevent root rot. Temperatures above ten degrees Celsius are desirable for healthy growth.
