Euphorbia ingens is a plant species native to southern Africa. It is mainly found in dry and warm areas such as savannas and hilly regions. Euphorbia ingens regularly occurs in countries such as South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Mozambique. This plant belongs to the Euphorbiaceae family.
Characteristics
Euphorbia ingens has thick, green, column-shaped stems with pronounced ribs and short spines along the edges. Mature specimens can, depending on conditions, reach a height of several metres. The plant has an upright growth habit and often branches out into shapes reminiscent of a candelabrum.
Care
Euphorbia ingens requires a sunny position with plenty of light. It is drought-tolerant and only needs moderate amounts of water. The substrate should be well-draining to prevent root rot. Moderate temperatures contribute to healthy growth.
