Origin
Dracaena draco is a plant species native to the Canary Islands. It is also found in Cape Verde, Madeira and parts of western Morocco. The plant mainly grows in dry, rocky areas.

Characteristics
Dracaena draco is a slow-growing tree that can reach up to 10 metres in height. It has sword-shaped, grey-green leaves, which are arranged in dense rosettes. When the trunk is cut, a red sap is released, traditionally known as ‘dragon’s blood’. The flowers are white and grow in large panicles, followed by orange-red berries.

Care
Dracaena draco thrives in plenty of light and can even tolerate direct sunlight. The plant prefers well-draining soil. Moderate watering is sufficient, allowing the soil to dry out between waterings. This species is not hardy and does not tolerate prolonged frost.
