Origin
The Dracaena draco, also known as the Dragon Tree, is a tree species originating from the Canary Islands, Cape Verde, and Madeira. The name refers to its red resin, also known as dragon's blood. This unique tree species plays a significant role in the mythology and folklore of the native population of these areas.

Characteristics
The Dracaena draco is distinguished by its unusual growth method. The tree begins with a single trunk, but after its first flowering, this splits into two branches, and each subsequent bloom causes further branching. The tree grows very slowly, resulting in some specimens estimated to be over 1000 years old. The leaves form a dense crown and are sword-shaped, stiff, and green in colour. The flowers of the Dracaena draco are greenish-white and bloom in dense clusters.

Care
Dracaena draco is an easy-to-maintain tree and can be cultivated both indoors and outdoors in warm climates. The tree needs plenty of light, but can also tolerate some shade. When watering, it's crucial to let the soil dry out between each watering to prevent the roots from getting waterlogged. It's also advisable to fertilise the tree during the growth season to promote healthy growth.
