Origin
The Dracaena surculosa, also known as gold dust dracaena, is a native plant of West Africa. It originates from countries such as Ivory Coast, Sierra Leone and Ghana, where it grows in humid tropical forests.

Characteristics
The Dracaena surculosa is a compact, evergreen shrub with a maximum height of about 1.5 meters. Characteristic of the Dracaena surculosa are the glossy, thinly textured leaves with spotted patterns in yellow and white. The plant, with good care, will also produce small orange-yellow flowers. This manageable plant is popular for indoor use, mainly due to its attractive and unique appearance.

Care
Dracaena surculosa care is generally simple, making it also very suitable for beginner gardeners. The plant prefers light to semi-shady conditions, but can also adapt to less light. It has a moderate need for water, and it's important to prevent the roots from sitting in water, as this can cause root rot. The plant thrives well in a humus-rich, well-drained soil. The Dracaena surculosa is not frost resistant and it's therefore advisable to bring the plant indoors during the cold winter months.
