Origin
The Dracaena surculosa, also known as the 'Gold dust dracaena', originates from West Africa. It is commonly found in countries such as Ivory Coast, Ghana, and Nigeria, as well as in tropical parts of Asia. The plant typically grows in the dense forests and on the rich, moist soil of these tropical regions.

Characteristics
The Dracaena surculosa is a compact, evergreen plant that can grow up to approximately 1.2 metres in height. The leaves display a unique pattern of cream-white spots, hence the nickname 'Gold dust'. The leaves can grow to a length of about 6-15 centimetres. In the late spring and early summer, the plant can also produce small, fragrant white flowers.

Care
The Dracaena surculosa, like most tropical plants, prefers a warm, humid environment and lots of indirect light. Direct sunlight can burn the leaves. The plant needs to be watered regularly and evenly, but it's important that the soil can dry between waterings to prevent root rot. Although the plant can adapt to slightly cooler temperatures, an optimal growth environment is between 16-24 degrees Celsius.
