Origin
The Dracaena surculosa, also known as the Spotted-Dracaena or Gold-Dust Dracaena, has its origin in West Africa. The region stretches from Ivory Coast to Nigeria, where the plant grows wild in forests and scrubland.

Characteristics
The Dracaena surculosa is an easily recognisable plant due to its dark green leaves that are elegantly dotted with yellow spots. These colours become brighter as the plant receives adequate light, although it does not require direct sunlight. The plant grows slowly and reaches a height of about 60-90 cm.

Care
The Dracaena surculosa is a relatively low-maintenance plant. It prefers moderately moist soil, where overwatering must be avoided to prevent root rot. The need for water is particularly lower in winter, while in summer the soil should be kept evenly moist. Although the Dracaena surculosa can adapt to various light conditions, it performs best in partial shade.
