Origin
The Ficus benjamina Samantha® is a variant of the Ficus benjamina, also known as the weeping fig. Originally, this plant species comes from Southeast Asia and Australia, where it grows in a tropical climate.
Characteristics
The Ficus benjamina Samantha® is known for its compact shape and glossy, dark green leaves. The plant can grow up to 150 cm tall. What stands out on this ficus is its weeping form; the branches elegantly bend downwards. The plant grows almost all year round, with peak growth in the spring and summer.
Care
For optimal care of the Ficus benjamina Samantha®, it is important to place the plant in a light, but not fully sun-drenched location. In addition, the plant thrives best at a constant room temperature of around 18-22 degrees Celsius. It is advisable to always keep the soil of the plant lightly moist. In the growth period, spring and summer, the ficus needs extra nutrition. This can be done by adding plant food to the watering water every two weeks.
