DescriptionSpecifications

Origin
The Croton (Codiaeum) variegatum 'Mammi' originally comes from Southeast Asia and Oceania, reaching as far as the Pacific. They are cultivated varieties, with the 'Mammi' being a specific member of this species. The plant is also known as Joseph's Coat.

Characteristics
The Croton 'Mammi' is characterised by its multicoloured, curled leaves that lend a very distinctive appeal to this plant. The colours range from green, red, yellow, orange to purple. The leaves are glossy and leathery. The plant can grow to a height of about 50-60 centimetres, but in ideal conditions, the 'Mammi' can also grow larger.

Care
The Croton 'Mammi' requires specific care to maintain its vibrant colour. The plant needs lots of light, but direct sunlight can damage the foliage. A light, semi-shady location is ideal. The 'Mammi' likes high humidity, so regular spraying is necessary. Regular watering is important, but avoid waterlogging to prevent root rot. It is advisable to fertilise the plant weekly during the growth period, which runs from spring to autumn. In winter, the plant sleeps a bit and needs less water and nutrition.
