DescriptionSpecifications

Origin
The Ficus lyrata 'Bambino', also known as the Dwarf Fiddle Leaf Fig, originates from West Africa, where it grows in the tropical rainforest. Here, this plant thrives in the warmth and humidity and can grow into a tree of considerable size.

Characteristics
The Ficus lyrata 'Bambino' is a popular indoor plant, characterised by its striking, shiny leaves that resemble those of a violin, hence its name. The leaves are small and have an irregular, wavy edge, which gives the plant an unique and graceful appearance. It is a slow grower and typically reaches a height of about 80 centimetres, although it can grow taller under ideal conditions.

Care
The Ficus lyrata 'Bambino' prefers a light position but does not tolerate direct sunlight. It requires a stable temperature and consistently high humidity, and the potting soil should be kept moist, but overwatering should be avoided. As this plant originally comes from a tropical environment, it will also benefit from a periodic spray to increase the humidity. For optimal health, this plant should be repotted every two years using high quality potting soil. Although the Ficus lyrata 'Bambino' is more resistant than some of its counterparts, it can still be sensitive to pests, including spider mites and woolly aphids. Therefore, it is advisable to regularly check the plant.
