The Sansevieria trifasciata 'Black Coral', also known under the name of 'Mother-in-Law's Tongue', has its origin in West Africa, especially Nigeria and Congo. This plant is part of the Asparagaceae family and can be found in various tropical and subtropical regions of the world.

Characteristics
The Black Coral is a distinct type of Sansevieria with dark, almost black foliage. It grows upright with long, pointed leaves that are marked with horizontal stripes of light and dark green. This species can reach considerable heights, up to 90 centimeters. It's a highly resistant plant that thrives well in different conditions.

Care
Caring for the Black Coral is relatively simple and doesn't require a lot of maintenance. The plant has a preference for bright, indirect light, but can also survive in less-lit conditions. Once well-rooted, occasional watering will suffice. However, do drain excessive water, as overwatering can cause root rot. The Black Coral can withstand dry air well, making it suitable for indoor climates with central heating.
