Origin
The Asplenium antiquum 'Amy', also known as the Japanese bird's nest fern, originates from the tropical and subtropical areas of East Asia. This plant is known for its ability to grow both on the forest floor and amongst rocks.

Characteristics
The Asplenium antiquum 'Amy' is characterised by its tufted growth habit and lance-shaped, shiny green leaves. The leaves can grow up to 60 centimeters in length. This fern has an unusually low number of spores, and therefore mainly propagates through vegetative reproduction. It does not flower, and is primarily valued for its luxurious foliage and the natural, soothing element it adds to the interior.

Care
When caring for the Asplenium antiquum 'Amy', it's important to remember that this plant prefers high humidity and indirect light. Too much direct sunlight can burn the leaves. The plant should be watered regularly, but it cannot tolerate water saturation. Therefore, after watering, any excess water should be drained away. During the winter period, the plant is best placed in a cooler location to have a rest period.
