Origin
The Dracaena surculosa 'Milky Way', also known as the golden Dracaena, originates from the tropical regions of Africa. This species thrives particularly well in forests and on savannahs, where it naturally grows under the canopy of larger trees.
Characteristics
Dracaena surculosa 'Milky Way' is recognised for its striking leaves, which range from dark green to almost black, with noticeable white spots. These dew-like spots have given the plant its name 'Milky Way'. It grows slowly and can eventually reach a height of between 60 cm and 1.2 metres.
Care
Caring for the 'Milky Way' requires attention to light and water supply. Although the plant grows under the canopy in nature, it needs indirect sunlight to thrive. Too much direct sunlight can burn the leaves. It is also important to water the plant regularly but moderately; the soil should be moist, but not soaked. Lastly, this Dracaena grows best in a warm environment with high humidity, similar to its natural habitat.
