Origin
The Phalaenopsis 'Red Lip' belongs to the Phalaenopsis genus, which originates from South-East Asia. This variety was developed through crossings within the Phalaenopsis genus. The plant is mainly cultivated in greenhouses and is popular as an indoor pot plant.

Characteristics
Phalaenopsis 'Red Lip' is characterised by its large, oval flowers with a white colour and a striking bright red lip. The plant has glossy, dark green leaves that grow low at the base. The flower spikes can carry multiple blooms and are long and upright. The flowers have a prolonged flowering period that can last several months. The total height of the plant is usually between 40 and 70 centimetres.

Care
Phalaenopsis 'Red Lip' thrives best at a constant room temperature in a bright spot, out of direct sunlight. The plant grows in an airy substrate, often consisting of bark or special orchid potting soil. Regular watering is required, but the substrate must be allowed to dry out in between. Humidity and good ventilation encourage healthy growth. Feeding is usually carried out during the growing season with special orchid fertiliser.
