Origin
The Cyclamen persicum Halios mix originates from the eastern Mediterranean region. This plant naturally grows in countries such as Turkey, Syria, and Lebanon. In the nineteenth century, the species was introduced to Europe and further developed as an ornamental plant.
Characteristics
Cyclamen persicum Halios mix is a compact, flowering plant. Its leaves are heart-shaped with silver marbling. The striking flowers are available in various colours, including white, pink, red, and purple. The flowering period usually lasts from autumn to spring. The flowers stand upright on long stems above the foliage.
Care
Cyclamen persicum Halios mix requires plenty of light, but should not be placed in direct sunlight. The plant thrives best in a cool environment, ideally between 12 and 18 degrees Celsius. Regular watering is necessary, preferably around the edge of the pot to keep the centre of the plant dry. Excessive watering can cause root rot. Removing spent flowers encourages a longer flowering period.
