Origin
The Cyclamen persicum midi Metalis is a variant of the plant species Cyclamen persicum, which originally hails from the Middle East and Southern Europe. The Metalis variant has been specifically cultivated for its unique visual characteristics, obtaining its special qualities through selective breeding.
Characteristics
The Cyclamen persicum midi Metalis is a striking plant thanks to its stunning leaves with a silver-like sheen, which is what the name 'Metalis' refers to. The plant blooms large, eye-catching flowers in various colours, often in shades of pink or white. It is smaller than the regular Cyclamen persicum, hence the addition of 'midi' to its name.
Care
Looking after the Cyclamen persicum midi Metalis requires specific attention, with the plant thriving best in a light and cool environment, but it should avoid direct sunlight. Watering is preferably done from the bottom, so avoid getting the leaves and flowers wet. The plant requires a lot of water during blooms, but it is important to allow the soil to dry out between watering to prevent root rot. After the flowering period, during the resting period, the plant requires little water. It is advisable to regularly feed the plant with special Cyclamen fertiliser during the growth and blooming period.
